The most memorable roses I ever saw were in Alnick Gardens, Northumberland.
It was late in the afternoon. In the fading light, the roses were glowing peach. But the magic of the scene came from the deep blue-greens of the foliage, rarely noticed yet as beautiful as the roses.
Exhibited in the invitational show Inspired by Nature at the Summit Medical Group, Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, October 2015-March 2016.
